Caleb Ross is resigning as assistant director of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) to return to the Yellowhammer State as a high school football coach.
Fairhope (Ala.) has named Ross to take over as the program’s next head coach, according to multiple reports. Ross previously coached at McGill-Toolen Catholic School, where it won a state championship in 2015, and most recently at Prattville from 2018 to 2020.
The Pirates advanced to the second round of the AHSAA Class 7A playoffs with an 8-4 record, but lost to downtown Phoenix 34-15.

former fairhope head coach Tim Carter He retired from coaching last month after 35 years on the sidelines at various Alabama high schools. Carter’s schools include Fairhope College, Auburn College and Monroe College.
Carter compiled a 168-102 overall record as coach and led the Buccaneers to the playoffs eight times.
Fairhope ranked No. 28 in the state last season, according to the final 2025 Alabama High School Football Massey Rankings.
