Bathurst selected the Sooners over offers from Duke, Nebraska, Louisville, Kansas, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Syracuse.

Oklahoma State didn’t extend an invitation to Bathurst until mid-November, and he officially visited for the Missouri game. It didn’t take long for the Indiana native to complete the deal as he committed to Oklahoma State on Friday night.
At Indiana, Bathurst was a developed pass rusher. He has great hands and does a great job rushing. He has excellent motor and displays a variety of pass-rushing moves to get to the quarterback. In the run game, Bathurst uses his length and strength to create a nice advantage, extending plays down the sideline or forcing them back inside for his help. Bathurst is fluid in coverage and uses his length to seal down passing windows in the zone.
Rumor has it that the Sooners may consider deploying Bathurst at fullback. Whether at linebacker or defensive end, Bathurst has the skills, instincts and drive to be a player for the Sooners.
Bathurst will join the defensive end ranks, replacing veterans R. Mason Thomas and Marvin Jones Jr. The Sooners will bring back Tyler Wynn, Danny Okoye, Adepoju Adebawal, Nigel Smith, Wyatt Gilmore and CJ Nickerson.
