2. Bundesliga Review: Five-star Der Club end winless run in emphatic fashion

The first 25 minutes of the game showed why both teams are winless in their past three games. However, the home team suddenly scored two goals in three minutes.

Julian Justvan scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season to put Nuremberg two goals ahead of their nearest rivals in the table. Adriano Grimaldi was instrumental both times, including his ferocious finish that set up Justvan’s second goal.

Justin von der Schitz came close to scoring on his debut, but Mohamed Ali Zoma managed to score Nuremberg’s third just before half-time. Rabby Nzingoula, making his first start since joining the club from Strasbourg, scored for the in-form attacker.

Miroslav Klose’s side extended their lead soon after the break, with Zoma hitting the target again courtesy of Nzingula. Marvin Vanizek pulled a goal back for the visitors just before the hour but Zoma completed his hat-trick with his eighth goal of the season following a brilliant pass from Belka Yilmaz.

Nuremberg achieved its biggest victory of the season in Klose’s first game after his contract extension, temporarily climbing to eighth place. This is also the first time Karlsruhe has conceded five goals this season. They have now lost consecutive away games.
