When it comes to the Winter Olympics, figure skating is always one of the most anticipated and watched events of the two-week event. It will be the case again at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games.
All eyes in Milan and at home will be on the ice at the Malina Forum on Friday afternoon as Ilya Marinen looks to capture his second gold medal at the Winter Olympics.

Marinen became a breakout star in the team competition, helping Team USA win the gold medal, and now he’ll carry that momentum into the individual competition when he attempts the free skate.

Entering Friday’s match, Marinen was an overwhelming -10,000 favorite to win the gold medal, followed closely by Japan’s Yuma Kagiyama, who had odds of +1,800.
