The channel describes itself as “a love letter to nature’s bloodthirsty tendencies.” It focuses on the relationship between predator and prey.

At the beginning of the video, it looks like the bear is about to successfully subdue the moose calf. Black bears are one of the most important predators of moose calves in parts of Alaska, according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Grizzly bears are not common in these areas. In these areas, black bears can kill approximately 40 percent of moose calves. While most kills are done by adult male black bears, the video above shows us that cubs are willing to give it a try too!
Black bears risk attacking moose calves because mother moose are not pushovers. In the video above, we see her rushing towards the small animal, possibly alerted by the calf’s cry. The bear was frightened and let go. The calf then managed to get up and run away. After a while we saw the cub alone, so it’s safe to assume the rescue was a success!
Are mother moose scary?
Yes they are! Not only do they pose a threat to the cheeky little bears; They can also harm humans. According to the Utah Wildlife Department, there are some things you can do to keep yourself safe around moose. The first tip is to give the moose plenty of space. Don’t try to approach or feed them. If they charge at you, try to hide behind something large and sturdy. However, if you are knocked down by a moose in an open area, your best bet is to curl up into a ball. Guard your head until they lose interest and walk away.
