Video footage from a St. Paul restaurant shows a federal agent entering the restaurant with a handgun drawn.
The owner of East Side Thai at 879 Payne St. captured the scene on Monday as a team of ICE agents appeared to be searching for a civilian.
The suspected civilian ran past the front of the restaurant and seconds later an unmarked SUV pulled up.
The agent did not appear to notice the man running past and instead entered the restaurant with a pistol drawn.
Kou Vang, a co-owner of East Side Thai, posted on Facebook: “On Martin Luther King Day, ICE is out here chasing kids and going about their business with guns at the ready.
“ICE agents accused us of hiding kids. He ran through my business, not inside. Anyway, everyone is fine, just a little traumatized. Stay safe.”
ICE and other federal authorities have been focusing on St. Paul’s East Precinct in recent days. This sparked the fury of Sao Paulo Mayor Kaohly Her after one of his homes was raided and an innocent 57-year-old grandfather walked out wearing only boxers, Crocs and a blanket.
