LSU football signed offensive lineman Jamard Jones out of the transfer portal, The Advocate Wilson Alexander reported Friday. He played his freshman season with Nicholls and will now try to make a run at SEC football.
Jones played in six games as a freshman and had two pressures but no sacks. Nichols’ roster page lists him as 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds. He is from Metairie, Louisiana, a small suburban town outside of New Orleans. He played football at Archbishop Rummel Academy in high school.

When head coach Lane Kiffin arrived in Baton Rouge, rebuilding the offensive line was a priority as every starter and key backup entered the transfer portal. The Tigers retain Braylin Moore and Weston Davis but need to add depth.
Even though he competed at a lower level, Jones still earned playing time as a true freshman. He will be competing for snaps along with several other linemen coming out of the gate.
