Brentwood’s Eliza McKnight named Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of Year

Brentwood senior Eliza McKnight has been named the Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of the Year, it was announced.

McKnight, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker who signed with Western Kentucky, had 475 kills and 268 digs last TSSAA volleyball season, leading the Bruins (29-6) to the Class AAA state championship game.

McKnight, the District 10-AAA MVP, also added 42 blocks and 24 service aces while posting a .446 kill percentage and .321 hitting percentage.

The award honors the state’s top volleyball players and takes into account academic performance and community involvement.

McKnight is a member of Brentwood High School’s National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She serves locally as part of several community service initiatives through the Greater Nashville Chapter of the National Charity League.

As the recipient, McKnight is eligible to receive the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award.
