So someone requested a Duke Nolan Smith highlight reel on X, and that wish was granted.
Smith improved significantly during his time at Duke. He joins Jon Scheyer to form one of Duke’s most underrated backcourts. We still talk about the Johnny Dawkins/Tommy Amaker backcourt, the Bobby Hurley/Thomas Hill backcourt, and the Tyus Jones/Quinn Cook backcourt, but the Smith/Shayer backcourt is amazing because both of those guys are very smart players.

People forget that that team only had three defenders, and Andre Dawkins was emotionally devastated by the death of his sister during the season.
Smith was outstanding all season long, helping Duke win the 2010 national championship. He is one of the few players to win a national championship with his father (the list includes Scott and Sean May, Henry and Mike Bibby, Max and Chris Johnson), and in Smith’s case, he won a national championship in Indianapolis, just like his father later did.
Smith, now the head coach at Tennessee State, is off to a 9-5 start in his first season.
