Upcoming TNA Title Match Rescheduled For AMC Debut

Ever since former WWE NXT star Trick Williams captured the TNA World Championship at NXT Battlegrounds last May, the second half of Mike Santana’s 2025 career has become an obsession, as bringing the gold back to his original promotion became his life’s work. When “The Truest” completes his mission on the Road to Glory in October, it will be an exciting time not only for the new champion and his daughter, but for the entire company. But the hero’s journey only lasted 32 days before Frankie Kazarian cashed in his half of the “You Take the Helm” trophy and became the new world champion. Now, Santana will once again compete for the title. But the date for it has been moved forward.

During last Thursday’s episode of Impact, Santana told Kazarian that he only has 12 days to prepare as the two will compete for the title on Thursday Night Impact, which premieres Thursday, January 15, on AMC. Originally, the match was scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 17 at Genesis, the promotion’s first pay-per-view event of the year. Also scheduled for the opening event is X-Division champion Leon Slater, who will defend his title for the ninth time against Myron Reed. This will be Reed’s second time challenging for the belt.

In December, TNA president Carlos Silva announced that the company would be moving its flagship weekly programming from AXS TV to AMC in a new time slot from 9 to 11 PM ET.
