The Steelers honored high school football players with the Jerome Bettis Leadership Award today.
The program recognizes 11 high school football players who have excelled in coaching their teammates on and off the field.

Adam Shroads – Central Valley High School

Jonny Mestra – Mars High School

Christian Dawkins – Beaver Falls High School

Lucas Stead – Alderdis High School
The athletes were honored at a luncheon held at the Best Batch Clubhouse in Homestead. Charlie Batch spoke at the event.
Each student receives $1,000 to go towards the school’s football program.
The program is the result of a partnership between the Steelers, The Mentoring Partnership and the sponsors of the Steelers youth football program, Giant Eagle and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
