Texas A&M’s defensive line will undergo significant changes heading into the 2026 season, with several key contributors set to depart. The loss of senior defensive end Cashius Howell will be particularly hard hit, as he declared he will officially enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
Howell announced via social media on Wednesday that he would officially enter the draft. That’s to be expected since he’s no longer eligible, and even if he were, he’s coming off a career that included a first-round unanimous All-American selection. This is less of an announcement and more of a farewell and thank you to the 12th man.

Howell transferred to Aggieland after three years in Bowling Green and immediately helped add depth to the team. In a limited rotation role, he finished with 40 tackles, four sacks and one interception. This year, he led the SEC with 11.5 sacks in official games and finished his college career with 27 sacks and 125 tackles.
Here’s the news in a statement on Instagram.
The NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
