CNN Scott Jennings – In a rare appearance on ABC, the Rep. argued. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) ‘Trapped’ after being dumped by president Donald Trump.
Appeared on ABC TV this week To promote his new book, Jennings was invited by the anchor Jonathan Carr Weighing in on the burgeoning divisions in the MAGA world.
“There’s some kind of division in MAGA,” Carr said. “It’s a relatively new phenomenon – I mean, there’s always been a little bit of it, but… if I were to say what’s the most surprising story? [of the year] Yes, I would say, Marjorie Taylor Greene not only became a critic of Trump, but—”
Jennings interrupted.
“MTG became a lib!” Jennings said.
The CNN contributor went on to slam Greene, arguing that her feud with the president is personal, not ideological.
“She’s kind of out of shape because the president doesn’t support her opening a statewide office in Georgia — a position that, by the way, she would lose if she gets into it,” Jennings said. “So she went off the deep end.”
Jennings went on to downplay the idea that there are rifts within MAGA.
“Look, I don’t think these divisions and all this friction is as serious as some people think it is,” Jennings said. “Trump remains extremely popular among Republicans. He’s the most powerful leader of the party in modern times. He can get his allies in Congress to do pretty much anything he wants them to do — which is why I think in the coming year they should really spend some time trying to codify … his executive orders and some of the other initiatives he’s taken and really try to make them stick and really fight through. Because I think a lot of the things he’s done are actually going to be quite popular in the political debate there.”
