The two-day festival, hosted by the Broome County Festival of Lights and Speedy Festival, was originally scheduled for Dec. 26-27 but has been postponed and rescheduled due to weather.
The decision comes as Broome County issues a winter storm warning from 1 p.m. on Dec. 26 to 12 p.m. on Dec. 27.
Heavy snow is expected, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton. Residents can expect an increase of 5 to 9 inches. The advisory states that travel may be difficult and hazardous conditions may impact the Friday night commute.
The heaviest precipitation will hit the region in the afternoon and evening, with conditions starting to slow down in the early morning hours of December 27.
The new dates for the event are January 2 and January 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Oziningo Park in Binghamton.
Attendees will be able to experience SpyFest’s hot air balloon glow, food and entertainment including live music and free face painting for children while being surrounded by holiday lights, according to a news release from event organizers.

The festival will combine the iconic local traditions of both events, lighting up the night sky with light nodes in a Spider Festival atmosphere.
“If you’ve seen Night Glow at SpyFest before, this will be a whole new way to experience it,” said event director Dave Pessagno. “That same tradition is now integrated into the Festival of Lights, creating something truly unforgettable.”
If you are interested in attending, tickets can be purchased on the Festival of Lights website and at the entrance to Otziningo Park. If purchased online, a one-way ticket is $27.50 and a season pass is $64.60 (including fees).
Endicott DMV offices closed December 27
The DMV in Endicott will be closed Saturday, December 27, due to severe weather and poor road conditions expected from the upcoming winter storm. All DMV offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, December 29th.
