Friday Headlines: Return of Kentucky Basketball Denims

The Kentucky basketball team will have 10 days off after defeating Bellarmine on Christmas Eve.

The Wildcats enter the new year with a 9-4 record, and although they’ve fallen out of the AP Top 25, Mark Pope’s team has won four straight, with wins over Indiana and St. John’s.

Kentucky will likely just need to get healthy to show their true potential, and a 10-day break will only help the Wildcats as they prepare for a thrilling matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide next Saturday in Tuscaloosa to kick off Southeastern Conference play.

While celebrating the holidays, the team announced at 7 a.m. on Christmas Day that they will put on their Cowboys uniforms again when they take on the Tennessee Volunteers at Rupp Stadium on February 7 – nearly 30 years after their debut on February 11, 1996.

Kentucky’s uniforms have been an interesting topic for years (love the platinum, hate the checkerboard), and this is sure to be a unanimous favorite throughout the big blue nation.
