The Oklahoma City Thunder enter Tuesday night’s game on the second night of a back-to-back after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.

However, before last night’s win over the Grizzlies, the Thunder had lost two of their past three games, including a loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup semifinals.

Tuesday’s rematch gives the Thunder a chance to exact revenge on their Western Conference rivals.

Unfortunately for Oklahoma City, things didn’t go as planned. Although Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren both returned to the lineup after missing Monday’s game, the Thunder were at a disadvantage from start to finish.

Oklahoma City was outscored in every quarter except the second, including the fourth quarter when the Spurs outscored the defending champions 43-28.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 33 points weren’t enough, as the Thunder committed 15 turnovers to the Spurs’ eight.

That cost Oklahoma City 20 points, their biggest loss of the season. The Thunder have lost three of their past five games and fall to 26-4 on the season.

Now, with four losses before January, it’s safe to ask: Has the all-time win record become just out of reach?

The Warriors had a record of 73 wins and 9 losses in the 2015-16 season, and did not suffer their fourth loss of the season until January 16. At that time, their record was 37 wins and 4 losses.

The Thunder need to win their next 11 games to maintain the same pace.
