Marat Kusnudinov and Alex Steeves scored in the first period to give Boston a 2-1 lead, but Demidov tied it two minutes into the second period when he swept past Nikita Zadorov’s pass to David Pastrnak and slid in for Jeremy Swayman’s goal.

The Bruins had a goal disallowed in the final seconds of the second period, but Zadorov broke his stick while trying to clear the zone, leaving the puck to Bolduc and the score remained 2-2.

The Canadiens winger passed the ball and then scored with a shot to make the score 3-2. 99 seconds later, Caulfield scored a goal and Suzuki scored with a two-man advantage.

Swayman blocked 23 shots for the Bruins.

Boston killed off a four-minute power play late in the second quarter when Steeves was ejected for a high-stick double minor, then appeared to take the lead with 5 seconds left, but Elias Lindholm’s goal after a scramble in the crease was called off due to goaltender interference.
