SYDNEY (AP) — Football Australia has banned former Western United player Riku Danzaki for seven years and former Macarthur FC players Clayton Lewis and Karyn Baccus for at least four years over live gambling offenses.
In August, Japanese football player Tanzaki and amateur player Yuta Hirayama were convicted and fined for yellow card betting fraud. Hirayama bet on Danzaki getting a yellow card on purpose.

Football Australia said on Friday Danzaki and Hirayama had been banned for seven years from June 1, when they were both provisionally banned for no fault of their own.
In September, Backus and Lewis were sentenced to two-year conditional discharge orders, similar to good behavior bonds, and avoided conviction after admitting their involvement in corrupting the outcome of betting on events.
The pair admitted that former club captain Ulises Davila paid the pair A$10,000 ($6,600) each to deliberately earn yellow cards during a match in December 2023.
They were also required to repay fines received for receiving yellow cards.

Davila pleaded guilty in October to aiding and participating in subverting the outcome of betting on the event and is awaiting sentencing.
Football Federation Australia said all four players had accepted their respective penalties and would not appeal.
