BOSTON (AP) — Morgan Geekie scored twice and Jeremy Swayman stopped 20 shots to help the Boston Bruins beat Utah 4-1 on Tuesday night for their fifth win in their last six games.
Casey Mittelstadt and Michael Esmont also scored and David Pastrnak had two assists to help the Bruins end a three-game road trip and open a five-game homestand with a win.

Barrett Hayton scored for the Mammoths and Vitek Vanecek made 19 saves.
It was Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy’s first game back on the ice at TD Garden, where he missed nearly a month after being hit in the face by a puck and undergoing surgery. McAvoy has been wearing a face mask since returning to Winnipeg on Thursday.
Hayden was on Swayman’s right and midway through the first period, he took a pass from Sean Durzi and sailed past the goalie to make it 1-0. With Boston tying the game and the Bruins taking the lead with four minutes left in the first period, Pastrnak passed the puck across the ice to Giecki, catching an out-of-position Vanecek.
Just 23 seconds into the second quarter, Pastrnak skated toward the blue line, then turned and threw to Vanecek, who was screened by Geek. The puck bounced off the goalie in front of him and Geekie swept it into the net to make the score 2-1.

This situation continued until midway through the third quarter, when Mittelstadt passed the puck to Pavel Zacha. Pavel Zacha’s shot hit the backboard of the net and bounced to the other side, where Mittelstadt scored. Esmont broke through the defense to make it 4-1 with 4 minutes left.
