Brawl of the Wild goes big time as Montana-Montana State’s FCS semifinal ticket prices surpass College Football Playoff games

Montana State – Montana State, known as the Brawl, is one of the fiercest rivalries in the FCS. This year, the game will be played in the FCS semifinals, which is more than just bragging rights.

The high stakes and relatively small seating capacity make this game the most expensive ticket in college football this weekend, including the first round of the College Football Playoff.

The cheapest game tickets for the game at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman, Montana, are $675, while tickets for Miami’s game against Texas A&M are about $350, the most expensive of the four first-round games in the College Football Playoff. The most expensive tickets to the FCS semifinals are sideline seats at $1,152. Founder Club tickets for the Miami vs. Texas A&M game are on sale for $2,484.

Bobcat Stadium has a seating capacity of 20,767, while Texas A&M Kyle Field has a seating capacity of over 102,000.

Prices for next year’s Montana-Montana State game start at $876, with some tickets going as high as $1,359.

Montana State defeated Stephen F. Austin 44-28 in the quarterfinals last weekend to move to 12-2 and become the second seed in the playoffs. Third-seeded Montana State, 13-1, defeated South Dakota State 52-22 in the quarterfinals. Montana State leads the all-time rivalry 74-44-5.

Montana State has won the last two meetings between the two teams, most recently a 31-28 win at Montana State on Nov. 22. At least one team has appeared in the FCS Championship Game the past four years. The last time Montana State won a national championship was in 2001;

Montana is led by head coach Bobby Hauck, the second-winningest active head coach in the FCS and one of the top 10 winningest active coaches in Division I with a 151-42 record. Montana’s key players are quarterback Keali’i Ah Yat, running back Eli Gillman and wide receiver Michael Wortham.

Montana State is led by head coach Brent Vigen. Montana State’s key players include quarterback Justin Lamson, running back Julius Davis and wide receiver Taco Dowler.
