As it turns out, Julian Sayen is nowhere close to winning the Heisman Trophy.
By now, you probably know that Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza won the Heisman Trophy, but in a bit of a surprise, the Ohio State quarterback finished fourth in the voting, meaning he may have narrowly missed out on making the finals in New York.

Sayen’s total of 432 points was a far cry from Mendoza, who won the award with 2,362 points, including a whopping 643 first-place votes. Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia is second with 1,435 points (189 first-place votes) and Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is third with 719 points, including 46 first-place votes. Saying received just eight first-place votes, fewer than No. 5 Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, who received 17 first-place votes.
The good news for Sayin is that he just completed his redshirt freshman campaign and should be one of the favorites to win a bronze medal in 2026. First, though, maybe the Ohio State quarterback can use this result as motivation to keep playing at a high level for a memorable College Football Playoff run.
