Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

In a career filled with accolades, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is no stranger to awards. This week, he added to the proverbial trophy list, earning AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in Buffalo’s 39-34 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14.

Against the Bengals, Allen completed 22 of 28 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns, two of which came on fourth downs. His first touchdown pass was a ridiculous 11-yard hit to wide receiver Khalil Shakir. Facing fourth down and 14-3, Allen extended the play, rolled to his right and whipped a pass into triple coverage, nearly hitting the Cincinnati linebacker on the helmet.

His second touchdown pass was less dramatic, hitting tight end Dalton Kincaid at an angle with five minutes left in the third quarter to pull the Bills within three. On his final touchdown pass, Allen hit tight end Jackson Hawes for a fourth-and-goal, extending Buffalo’s lead to 39-28 with 3 minutes left.

In addition to his successful passing game, Allen’s running ability is incredible. He rushed nine times for 78 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that energized the Bills. This touchdown was the longest regular season touchdown of Allen’s career. With 7 minutes left in the game, Buffalo narrowed the point difference to 3 points. Allen also gained 17 yards on one rush that ended with the Bills facing 3rd-and-15. If Buffalo didn’t convert, they would have had to punt the ball back to the Bengals, but thanks to Allen’s running game, they were able to kneel down twice to end the game.

This is Allen’s third Player of the Week award in the 2025 NFL season. He previously won the award in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens and Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is the 18th time in Allen’s career that he has won the AFC Player of the Week award.
