Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition Gets $50 Price Cut After Season Pass, Early Access Cancellation

Ubisoft delayed the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows last month, announcing that the action-adventure game would be released in February 2025 instead of its original planned release date of November 15. In addition to the delay, the company also announced the cancellation of the game’s season pass and early access plans. Now, Ubisoft is lowering the price of the Assassin’s Creed: Shadows Collector’s Edition to reflect these changes.

“Assassin’s Creed: Shadows” Collector’s Edition Price Reduced

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was released in May and is confirmed to be available in Standard, Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s Editions. The Collector’s Edition includes physical items such as a steel book, a world map, statues of Naoe and Yasuke, a life-size samurai sword of Naoe, a Wall Creed scroll, an 84-page collector’s book, and two ink-painted lithographs, and is priced at $279.99.

In a Discord Q&A (via IGN ), Ubisoft has confirmed that the Collector’s Edition will be marked down by $50, making it now available for $229.99. Since Early Access and the Season Pass (both part of the Collector’s Edition bundle) were removed, the new pricing reflects the reduced value of the edition.

According to Ubisoft, the Collector’s Edition content will remain unchanged from what was initially advertised, but some design elements of the physical items may change.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows delayed

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was delayed last month despite being in “feature complete” status. Ubisoft has said the delay will allow developers to further refine the next Assassin’s Creed game. “This will allow the biggest game in the series to fully realize its ambitions, particularly the promise of our dual protagonist adventure, with Naoe and Yasuke bringing two very different play styles,” Ubisoft said.

In addition to the delay, the French company also confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on Steam on launch day. All pre-orders for the game have been refunded, and Ubisoft says all future pre-orders will receive the first expansion for free.

The postponement was announced after Star Wars: Desperados had a lackluster release. The company has said the game’s commercial performance was “below expectations.” Ubisoft also revised its financial outlook for the 2024-25 fiscal year based on Outlaws sales and the decision to postpone Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is now set to launch on February 14, 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
