£40m Richard Hughes deal has FINALLY arrived

Milos Kolquez, worth £40m, struggles early in Liverpool career

Not everyone gets the chance to hit the ground running like Ekitike, who is worth £69m. In fact, another recent signing, Milos Kolquez, failed early in his Liverpool career.

The 22-year-old Hungary international, signed for £40m from Richard Hughes’ former club Bournemouth, was under considerable pressure from the start.

Replacing a club legend like Andy Robertson is never easy and Kolquez has certainly struggled with the transition. The left-back’s game was littered with individual errors, and Slaughter even felt the need to pull him out of the line of fire at times.

But Liverpool’s patience with Kolquez is finally starting to pay off – with the former AC Milan youngster reaching new heights against Brighton at the weekend.

This was arguably Kirkez’s best redshirt performance to date and should give him a lot of confidence moving forward.

Kolquez appears to have benefited from Arne Slott’s recent changes to a four-man midfield – finding it easier to get high and wide in order to contribute to the ball.

Richard Hughes worked hard to complete Kerkez’s transfer. It is the second time in his career that he has signed the defender, having previously seen him move to Bournemouth.
