Ruben Neves reportedly set to “Interested in joining” Manchester United if the deal works.
According to Football Insider, the veteran midfielder is considering a return to Europe after nearly three years in Saudi Arabia.

Neves joined Al Hilal from Wolves for £47 million in 2023 and served as captain in his final season at the club.
He has now made 112 appearances for the Saudi side, scoring 17 goals and providing 28 assists in all competitions.

Despite playing in the Middle East and not attracting the same attention as in the Premier League, the 28-year-old remains a mainstay in the Portuguese national team and will play an integral role for the national team at this summer’s World Cup.

Returning to England would certainly be a way to ensure he is up to speed ahead of competition, with England’s top flight widely regarded as the most competitive in world football.

If he is willing to move to Old Trafford in the middle of the season, he will compete with the Red Devils for Champions League qualification, while partnering with the likes of Casemiro, Kobe Mainu or Manuel Ugarte.

What’s more, Al Hilal are thought to be selling Neves for just £17m this month as his contract expires in June and he has rejected offers to extend his stay beyond his current deal. Alas, they risk losing such a valuable asset for nothing in just five months.

However, one factor that could prevent United from making a formal approach is that the former Molineux talisman earns between £300-330,000 a week – a wage that puts him on par with the Reds’ top earners Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.
