GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Drivers on the west side of Interstate 40 are experiencing delays due to a crash and fire that closed one side of the interstate, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The accident scene is located on Mile Marker 208 near Exit 208 of Sandy Ridge Road.
I-40 West is closed at NC 68, and the left two lanes of I-40 East are also closed due to the crash.

Traffic camera footage shows a large vehicle fire near the median of Interstate 40.
Traffic camera footage also showed the flames were apparently extinguished.
Traffic congestion due to accidents and closures extends to U.S. 421 near Bunker Hill Road.
Guilford County EMS said three people were injured in the crash, two of whom were taken to the hospital.
One of the injured persons taken to the hospital was considered to be in serious condition, while the other two were in minor condition.
