27-year-old man killed in Montrose – sheriff’s office calls on the public to help catch the shooter

MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) — Christopher Hubbell, 27, was shot to death on Nov. 23 outside his home in the 62000 block of LaSalle Road in Montrose, authorities said. Three suspects believed to be involved in his death remain at large, and the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help in tracking down those responsible.

“I know a lot of people want us to provide a description,” said MCSO Public Information Officer Dave Farley, “but that’s where the public comes in. Because people [have] You have to know who did this. “

Authorities said Hubbell and several others had just been driven to his home shortly before midnight on the 23rd when they were reportedly ambushed by three people outside the car and a fight broke out.

A short time later, the three suspects fled on foot into a field near Hubbell’s home, Farley said.

The driver of the car was hospitalized with injuries but has since been released from the hospital, authorities told WesternSlopeNow. Hubbell was shot and killed at the scene, according to the coroner’s office. Little is known about the three suspects in the more than a week since his death. The Sheriff’s Office hopes the public can come forward with information that will help solve Hubbell’s mysterious death and bring closure to his family and loved ones.
