The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina officially kicked off with the Opening Ceremony on Friday 6 February, with flag bearers from each participating country marching alongside their national flags and their compatriots who will be competing in the games.
A total of 92 countries participated this year, with Greece leading by tradition and Italy advancing as the host nation.

The opening ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm ET on NBC and Peacock, followed by primetime encores.
