player spotlight: California CB Mass for Hezekiah
There really aren’t many noteworthy prospects to choose from on Wednesday, but one potential option is Cal cornerback Hezekiah Masses, who has somehow flown under the radar this season despite being a three-time All-American.

While a little thin — something he’ll have to adjust to at the NFL level — Mathes excels in man-to-man coverage and hunts down receivers all along routes. He is very physical and has a high level of acceleration and deceleration ability, which allows him to stay close to opposing players in the defensive range.
Mathes also possesses impressive instincts and ball recognition, and his football IQ is exceptional for his age.
Prior to Wednesday’s game, Mathes was projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
