Ten suspects, nine of whom were members of the U.S. Navy and several with ties to criminal street gangs, were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a violent attack at a house party in Jamul last year.
Officials said the incident stemmed from an incident on May 3, 2025, when deputies with the San Diego Rancho Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault on a home in the 14000 block of Proctor Valley Road. As deputies responded to the incident, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received additional information indicating the suspect was armed with a firearm. Officials also learned that one of the victims of the attack was seeking medical help at a nearby fire station.
Officers arrived at the fire station and found the victim bleeding profusely from his head and face. The victims told officers they were attacked by a group of men and pistol-whipped. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
During the investigation, officials discovered that nine of the 10 suspects had served in the U.S. Navy. Many of them also have ties to criminal street gangs, according to officials.
Through a joint operation with NCIS, San Diego Sheriff’s Office detectives, the East County Gang Task Force, the San Diego Fugitive Task Force and the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team, officers made arrests on Tuesday, February 24, at Naval Air Station North Island, Naval Base San Diego, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and a residence in the city of San Diego.
In addition to the arrests, investigators seized five guns and approximately $20,000 in cash.
The 10 suspects are being held at the San Diego Central Jail on multiple felony charges related to assault and weapons violations.
