There’s been a lot of talk about the next iOS software update, which is coming soon. That’s mostly because we initially expected this particular update to introduce a smarter, more contextual Siri.
The news has reportedly been delayed again, although iOS 26.4 will still bring many exciting new features to iPhone users. It may land sooner than you think.
What features will iOS 26.4 bring and when will it be released?
According to 9to5Mac, iOS 26.4 could be released as early as Monday, March 23. In just a few days.
The site comes to this conclusion because RCs (Release Candidates) are now available to beta testers, usually marking the final stage of testing.
The report assumes that if no further bug fixes are required, the final version will be released to the public on Monday. However, if a bug is discovered, it may appear later next week.
In terms of expected features, some of the features seen in the beta should make their way to the consumer version.
Apple Music will usher in the biggest changes, with a total of five new features, including AI Playlist Playground tools, concert information, and new designs for albums and playlists.
There will also be a new video experience available in Apple Podcasts, while the Health app will see new sleep and vital signs data.
Elsewhere, reminders will have a new “Urgent” smart list, and the wallpaper library will get a makeover.
For CarPlay fans, video playback (finally) and AI chatbot apps are said to be supported, while Freeform will be updated with features exclusive to Apple Creator Studio.
All in all, it’s a nice update with a lot to look forward to across a range of apps, even if we still might miss the new Siri.
Apple has yet to confirm a release date for the software, but if 9to5Mac’s report is true, at least it won’t be too long.
