Beau Bichette missed most of the postseason due to injury, but returned for the World Series. Despite being away for a while, he’s performing at the plate as if he’d never left. His performance on baseball’s biggest stage will only increase his market value.

MLB insider Jon Morosi said: “It is confirmed that Beau Bichette has received interest from multiple teams that view him as a second or third baseman because they have an established shortstop on the roster. Further evidence that the World Series enhances his value in the market.”
After a stellar performance in the World Series, Bichette was set to hit free agency with a huge contract. Overall, he’s had an impressive year, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t continue on this upward trajectory.
“The key question facing Bichette in free agency is how teams will view him at the position. If the club is willing to accept him at shortstop, comparison to Willie Adams’ deal with the Giants (seven years, $182 million) is a good reference point. I assume that will be the case, at least in the short term. I’ll add a few extra coins due to Bichette’s age advantage and inflation. Seven years, $189 million ($27 million) AAV),” CBS Sports’ RJ Anderson wrote.
Austin Konenski of Sportsnaut believes Bichette could end up with the New York Yankees if they decide to trade Jazz Chisholm Jr.

“The New York Yankees are an interesting option for Bichette. If the Yankees end up trading Jazz Chisholm Jr. to another team, Bichette could move into second base. Chisholm has one year left on his contract, so maybe New York can also make its defense work without trading him. Regardless, Bichette joining an AL East rival would be a shocking development,” Koninski wrote.
Bichette’s signing with the Yankees would send the baseball world into a frenzy. An AL East rival poaching one of the Blue Jays’ top young stars would make it clear that no player in free agency is safe.
Bichette’s positional versatility only enhances his value. Chisholm can fill multiple roles whether he’s on the field or not, and Anthony Volpe’s injury to start the season gave the Yankees another reason to explore such a move.
