The New England Patriots had just 35 sacks last season, tied for 22nd in the NFL, so their pass rush needs help.

The Patriots lost K’Lavon Chaisson, who was an important part of the Patriots’ pass rush last season, especially in the playoffs. Even though they added Draymond Jones and will get a healthier Harold Landry next season, they need to do more to address their pass rush issues. They can still sign some pass rushers, including veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan.

Jordan may be entering his 16th season, but he can still get after quarterbacks. He had 10.5 sacks last season, more than anyone on the Patriots. He’s still looking for his first Super Bowl appearance, so the Patriots could be an attractive destination for him. However, he didn’t seem to want to play in the cold.

“I knew coming in, after 10.5 sacks, 15 TFLs, 40 tackles, OK, we have another season like this where we’re deep in the top 10,” he said Monday on “The Set with T. Stead.” “At the same time, I also accept the fact that at 36, everyone wants to be younger. Youth doesn’t mean more evidence than what is presented. But potential brings a lot to the league. I have a set value in mind. At this point, value is a matter of opinion. Value means position, rotation. Trade, money, sure, but more so if I want to get 10, 12, 13 sacks next season, I need to be in the best position to do that, and that could be with the Saints, it could be with the Miami Dolphins… It’s not going to be Cleveland or Buffalo or Green Bay, but… it could be.”

New England won’t give him the warmest environment, but it will give him a chance to win a ring. Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro. He has 132 career sacks, 763 tackles for loss and 175 tackles for loss. He’ll likely head to Canton after retirement, and a championship would cement his legacy.
