DALE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – Two people were arrested on drug-related charges following a probation search in Wanches on February 26, according to the Dale County Sheriff’s Office.
On February 26, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office assisted the North Carolina Probation Department with a probation search in Wanchez. The search uncovered and seized drugs and paraphernalia.
The search resulted in the arrests of Vanche residents Amanda J. Wells, 39, and Raymond V. Thomas Jr., 46. Wells now faces the following charges:

Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance

Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conspiracy to traffic in opium/heroin
-
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine
-
Maintaining Controlled Substance Vehicles/Residences/Premises
-
Maintaining Controlled Substance Vehicles/Residences/Premises

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver fentanyl
Thomas was charged with:

Simple Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
-
Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
-
Possession of drug paraphernalia
-
Conspiracy to traffic in opium/heroin
-
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine
-
Maintaining controlled substances in vehicles/residences/premises
Wells was issued a total secured bond of $275,000, including a $50,000 secured bond related to the first three charges and a $75,000 secured bond for violating probation. Thomas’s total secured bond is $135,000, which includes a $10,000 secured bond on the first three charges and a $50,000 secured bond on the probation violation.
