President Donald Trump has repeatedly amplified the fake account of Carolyn LeavittX, which once asked followers to rate the White House press secretary’s butt.
Trump shared X messages from @WHLeavitt on his Truth social account, despite clear indications it was a parody account. While the name might confuse a 79-year-old, somewhat Luddite president, the display name should be a red flag for him. It’s “Fan Karoline Leavitt,” although the “Fan” is rendered in a stylized font and emojis to disguise the word. However, in an effort to stamp out fakes, X also gives such accounts a “copycat” badge.
The account, which has 213,000 followers, sent messages that provided important clues that it was not the real Levitt. In March, the architect of the bizarre operation invited followers to rate the press secretary’s rear.
Luckily, Trump didn’t share a wild post from the account. /X/WHLevitt
“What do you think of my backside? Watch the video – a close-up of the last 3 seconds. I stand with President Trump and Mr. Musk,” the poster reads, alongside a clip of Levitt walking up the steps of an airplane with the aforementioned characters. Trump did not share a screenshot of this particular poll.
A new feature recently introduced by X should also help the president realize that the account isn’t even based in the United States, but in Taiwan. The profile was not verified until Trump was elected in November 2024, and a documented name change was made shortly after Trump returned to the White House in February 2025.

However, it’s entirely possible that Trump knew the account was fake but shared its posts anyway because they fit the MAGA narrative. The account, which has more than 213,000 followers, often posts anti-immigration sentiment and election denialism that Trump has repeatedly expressed at speaking events.
“Breaking News: Fulton County admits 315,000 2020 ballots were missing poll worker signatures, a major violation. Republicans are demanding damages from Rudy Giuliani, who was charged and fined $148 million for his role in congressional elections. Do you support returning his money?” it posted last week based on a report on the 2020 Georgia elections. Trump retweeted a screenshot of the post.
Likewise, he shared a tweet from the account about Somali immigrants, calling for all Somali immigrants to be deported from Minnesota. He did it on Christmas Day.
He wasn’t drawn to one post, one of several that suggested the poster was trying to show they were indeed Levitt. One of their ploys was to invite people to the White House for tea with the president.

Additionally, the poster invites “real human users” to attend a press conference hosted by Levitt.
The Daily Beast asked the White House if Trump knew it was a spoof account.
