Tim Jenkins reviews the film from Bo Nix’s great game vs. Packers

Former NFL quarterback and quarterback guru Tim Jenkins said Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix performed well against the Green Bay Packers’ elite defense on Sunday.

In his latest review, Jenkins begins watching Season 2. “The first quarter was pretty quiet, we didn’t have any snaps,” Jenkins said with his head in his hands. “Having said that, the ending to the game was definitely not peaceful.”

After Nix threw a third-down pass to Junior Jordan Humphrey on the Broncos’ first score of the game, Jenkins emphasized the importance of Denver moving its sticks throughout the day.

“It’s nice to see third down conversions all over the tape because that’s what happens when you get into the playoffs,” Jenkins said. “You’ve got to convert third down, right? There’s a big third down situation; that’s what we have to convert. We’ve got to get those third downs. Continue to maintain those efficiencies, continue to make plays in the offensive structure on third down. That’s exactly what Beau did here.”

During his career with the Knicks, Jenkins called it “pure insanity.” That throw was Nix’s final touchdown pass to Troy Franklin to end the third quarter. “I couldn’t believe that shot,” Jenkins said. “I couldn’t believe it ended up being a touchdown. It was, frankly, a very confident, disrespectful move…Bo put this thing right up the middle – I mean, there were four Packers defensive linemen basically forming a box, and Bo said, ‘You know what? I think I can put it in that box.’ Like, it was just disrespectful. It was just total confidence, and he did it…Bo made the exact throw he needed to make. It was just perfect.”

Jenkins does believe Nix is transforming into a franchise quarterback. “To me, why is Bo Nix a franchise quarterback?” Jenkins asked. “To me, the reason he’s trending in this direction is because he’s playing in an offensive structure. He’s less excitable. He’s less sporadic … it’s like he starts doing everything you want him to do.”
