Body camera footage from Tiger Woods’ arrest on Friday has been released, showing Woods kneeling at the scene of a collision between two vehicles.
Woods described what happened from his perspective: “I was looking down at my phone and all of a sudden, ‘boom.'” The video was first posted by TMZ.
Woods’ vehicle collided with the trailer of a pickup truck on a narrow road in Jupiter Island, Florida, on Friday afternoon. Woods’ SUV rolled over onto the driver’s side and Woods climbed out from the passenger side. He was arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail after officers at the scene found him acting “drowsy.” He refused a urinalysis in jail and was charged with DUI and failure to submit to a legal test. Woods has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge.

After acknowledging the seriousness of his situation, Woods announced earlier this week that he was seeking treatment for personal issues and was no longer considering captaining the 2027 Ryder Cup team. His attorneys have requested that Woods be allowed to leave the country to seek treatment, citing privacy concerns.
Woods will not play in next week’s Masters and will miss golf for an unspecified period of time. This is Woods’ fourth traffic incident involving police. The most high-profile of these was a 2021 accident in California in which Woods ran off the road at high speed and rolled multiple times. His injury required major reconstructive surgery, and his golf game – by far the least of the many challenges he currently faces – never recovered.
