Phoenix’s metropolitan ZIP code is one of the most popular places in the country for people to relocate, according to a November report.
MovingPlace, a moving services company, analyzed proprietary data from nearly 1 million moves in October. The study noted that action taken that month tended to be concentrated in suburbs with large, affordable homes.
“After the rush of summer and the back-to-school rush of September, October appears to embody a long-term lifestyle realignment: those who are moving to find new jobs, completing home purchases or deciding to put down roots before winter,” the report states.

Queen Creek’s zip code, 85142, ranks 8th in total moves, with 278 moves in October.
“Queen Creek is thriving because of its affordability, offering larger homes, larger lots and planned communities at more reasonable prices than nearby Phoenix,” the report states.
Queen Creek is one of the fastest growing cities in Arizona. The city’s population will grow by 6,286 people between 2023 and 2024, more than any other city in Arizona except Phoenix and Surprise.
The largest zip code is in Washington, D.C., with 370 moves. Five of the top eight zip codes are in Texas.
