The Truth to Reports Savannah Guthrie’s Brother-in-Law Is the Prime Suspect in Her Mom’s Abduction After Her Sister Was the Last Person to See Her

Police have responded to claims that Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law, Tommaso Cione, is the prime suspect in the disappearance of her mother, Nancy.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department told TMZ February 4: “We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives are continuing to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting additional forensic results.”

They added, “We have no confirmation that the vehicle was impounded and we are not sure where this reporter got this information.”

Rumors about Cione’s involvement in the case began when former NewsNation host Ashleigh Banfield claimed Savannah’s brother-in-law had been identified as a suspect.

“While we appreciate the public’s concern, sharing unsubstantiated accusations or false information is irresponsible and does not aid the investigation,” another statement from the Sheriff’s Department said.

Tommaso Scioni was the husband of Anne Guthrie. The couple married in 2006 and have a son.
