Teen paddleboarder missing in Fort Myers; last seen near Bunche Beach

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard, is searching for a missing 17-year-old teen in the south Fort Myers area.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 17-year-old Peter Campanella.

Campanella is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes, the Sheriff’s Office said in a post on its Facebook page.

The teen was last seen near Bunche Beach wearing a navy blue shirt and an orange backpack while paddling on a blue and white paddleboard, the Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook Sunday.

The Coast Guard posted to X on Sunday evening, December 21, that the agency was assisting LCSO with the ongoing search.

Anyone with information about the missing boy is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 239-477-1000 or 911, as applicable.
