A new affordable housing project for seniors is coming soon to East El Paso.
The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC) found that demand for seniors housing is at an all-time high, with nearly 621,000 units occupied as of April 2025.
A vacant lot on Zaragoza Road in East El Paso marks the site of a future affordable housing development for seniors.
Despite high demand, NIC found that new development of affordable senior housing has not kept pace. While El Paso offers several senior housing options through HOME, YWCA Rapid Rehousing and After55, new development in East El Paso would be a welcome addition.

The new housing project is located across the street from UCare Urgent Care, Golden Valley Animal Care and Lube X-press locations. The plot is located in front of a residential area and adjacent to Peter Piper Pizza and Whataburger.
