The caller allegedly said McSorley appeared to be “trying to knock the elderly man to the ground,” court documents state. The witness told the 911 operator she believed the 81-year-old might have died as a result of the brutal attack.

When police arrived, they found the man suffering from bruises and abrasions and bleeding from his ear and one eye. The elderly driver said he had vision problems and some pain in one shoulder after the beating. First responders believed his head injury meant he suffered a concussion during the attack and rushed the victim to an area hospital.
