The 2026 NBA Draft is still more than six months away, but St. John’s center Zuby Ejiofor has been projected as a late first-round pick for the Washington Wizards in multiple mock drafts after non-division play.
Bleacher Report and NBA TV draft expert Jonathan Wasserman projected Ejiofor to be drafted by the Wizards with the 30th pick in his latest mock draft released on Tuesday, comparing him professionally to Toronto Raptors center Jonathan Mogbo, another 6-foot-9 big man selected with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft.

“While Zubie Ejiofor excels at his position in the NBA, his athleticism and drive on both ends may be enough to fill a game-ending and defensive role,” Wasserman wrote in his report on Ejiofor. “His assist rate is also more than double what it was last year so far. Any sign of improved shooting should lead to a significant spike in NBA interest in him.”
Sports Illustrated’s Derek Parker also predicts Ejiofor will be drafted by the Wizards with the 30th pick in his latest mock draft, and Parker offered a similar analysis of Ejiofor’s ceiling, which depends on his improvement as an outside scorer.
“Ejiofor is an interesting archetype that needs to develop more peripheral skills to stick. But he can [Alexandre] Sarr in Washington’s frontcourt. “
Ejiofor is not rated highly by some media outlets, but he is still expected to be one of the 60 players selected in this June’s draft. CBS Sports draft expert Adam Finkelstein ranks Ejiofor No. 58 in his 2026 NBA Draft prospect rankings. Draft analysis website No Ceilings projects the Brooklyn Nets will select the Texan with the 45th overall pick in its latest mock draft released on December 10.

In the last game against Harvard, Ejiofor scored 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, helping the team win 85-59.
Ejiofor and the Red Storm return to action on the road against the Georgetown Hoyas (9-4, 1-1 Big East) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 in a New Year’s Eve battle in the Big East (8 p.m., FS1).
