Sony is back with its State of Play broadcast this week, promising updates and trailers for upcoming games from first- and third-party studios. As leaked news last month suggested, the event will take place on February 12th. The PlayStation parent company has yet to reveal details about the games that will be played during the live broadcast.
Sony confirmed in a PlayStation Blog announcement on Monday that the State of Play livestream will take place on Thursday, February 12 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST (3:30 AM IST on February 13). The gameplay showcase will be live-streamed on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels. You can also watch the broadcast in the video embedded below when it goes live later this week.
Sony says the livestream will last more than 60 minutes, meaning it will be one of the longest State of Play livestreams ever. Therefore, we can expect a lot of announcements and updates. The show will showcase “news, game updates and announcements from game studios around the world.”
“February’s State of Play will focus on compelling third-party and indie games on PS5, as well as the latest titles from the PlayStation Studios team,” Sony said.
What to expect from the current situation
On the first-party front, it’s a safe bet that Housemarque’s upcoming bullet hell action game Saros will appear on the State of Play broadcast. The game will be released exclusively on PS5 on April 30.
State of Play may also bring an update to Marathon, which is set to release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series S/X on March 5. At the State of Play, developer Bungie may confirm the dates for the game’s planned open play weekend ahead of its release.
We also get a release date confirmation for Marvel’s Wolverine . Insomniac Games shared an update on the action-adventure game during its last full State of Play show in September 2025. The release window for “The Wolverine” is currently set for fall 2026.
It might be a stretch to expect Naughty Dog to show off more of Interstellar. There have been no updates on the project since the Sony-owned studio revealed it at the 2024 Game Awards.
Another major first-party studio we haven’t heard from yet is God of War maker Santa Monica. The developer is rumored to be developing remasters of older games in the series, as well as a new game from Cory Barlog, director of the 2018 God of War reboot. The studio may also be developing the next chapter in the God of War series.
In addition to first-party projects, upcoming third-party games such as Crimson Desert, Resident Evil Requiem, and James Bond First Light may also appear on State of Play. There are rumors that Capcom will reveal the next Devil May Cry game and Square Enix will announce Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, but it’s best to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
Bethesda’s Starfield is rumored to be coming to PS5 sometime this year, and the news may be announced at the State of Play.
