Ravens land Clemson DT Peter Woods in early SB Nation mock draft

The Ravens’ loss to the Patriots on Sunday night understandably left many fans looking forward to next year’s draft.

Baltimore has multiple positions to choose from on both sides of the ball, none more pressing than offensive guard and defensive tackle. Based on an early look at the 2026 draft, there are no linebackers worthy of the Ravens’ current No. 14 pick.

At defensive tackle, though, there’s one clear choice: Clemson’s Peter Woods, who was selected by the Ravens in an early mock draft via SB Nation’s Mark Schofield. (It’s worth noting that Schofield’s mock draft was done before Week 16, when the Ravens were expected to select No. 16. However, since they moved up two spots and no team was ahead of them, Woods remained their pick.)

Woods, 20, was arguably the top defensive prospect in the 2026 draft heading into the 2025 college football season, but his stock fell after a disappointing season. He’s still considered the best defensive tackle in the class, but he may not be a top-10 pick like Jalen Carter and Mason Graham.

So, at least for now, it seems likely that he’ll end up in Eric DeCosta’s lap in the middle of the first round. Woods’ profile checks a lot of boxes for the Ravens. He’s a young, early-declaration back from a Power 5 program who could fill Baltimore’s short- and long-term needs. He also possesses enticing physical attributes and the kind of versatility the Ravens have typically coveted in past drafts.

Those qualities also make Woods a potential riser this spring, especially if his strength and athleticism impress at the combine. Even if the Ravens lose, they can only move up to the 10th pick. However, the teams ahead of them seem equally likely to lose their final two games, which could keep the Ravens in 14th place.

It’s too early to say whether Woods will be able to play, and further evaluation of his tape and measurables could change his outlook. But at first glance, he appears to be a quality defender who could pair with Travis Jones and ultimately provide the Ravens with a solid interior pass rush.
