A new Publix grocery store is coming to Shelbyville.

The nearly 50,400-square-foot Publix grocery store in Saddlebred Point, Florida, will be built on the northwest corner of Freedom’s Way and The Pointe Boulevard.

Publix announced the signing of the lease on February 19 but did not elaborate on the opening date.

The new Publix store will open on January 10, 2024 at 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd.

The future Shelbyville location will join three locations in Louisville (10005 Ballardsville Road, 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd, 150 Flat Rock Road) and open locations in Northern Kentucky and Lexington.

The Shops at Pear Orchard Road (1311 Pear Orchard Road) in Elizabethtown and locations in Georgetown, Somerset and Owensboro are also opening soon.

Another Louisville location, 201 Blankenbaker Parkway, is also officially under construction, and a number of other locations in Jefferson County are speculated to be future Publix locations, including the soon-to-be-redeveloped Midtown Mall.
