Sony has announced the list of games that will be added to the PlayStation Plus game catalog in May. This month’s lineup is headlined by Sand Land, an action RPG based on the popular comic series of the same name. Other games joining the PS Plus game catalog this month include role-playing game Soul Hackers 2, survival horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Call – Full Time Edition, first-person shooter Battlefield V, survival horror shooter STALKER: Zone Legend Trilogy, and more.
Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog this week that starting May 20, all new additions to its game catalog will be available to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe tier subscribers. The parent company of PlayStation also announced that a classic game will be added to the PS Plus Premium membership service in May.
PS Plus game catalog titles for May
Manga fans will be familiar with Sandlot, the beloved series from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. The video game adaptation was released on PC and consoles last year and is coming to PS Plus this month. This action role-playing game features a third-person perspective and lets players travel across a vast desert world in a variety of different vehicles.
You play as Beelzebub, the protagonist of the comic, and you search for the legendary spring in the desert with his fellow thief and police chief Rao. The journey will bring many threats and plenty of discoveries as players fight monsters, wildlife, bandits, and more. But you can upgrade your skills during the game and add more weapons to your arsenal. In addition to traversal, your tank can help you fight against the meanest enemies. Sandland will be available on PS4 and PS5.

Atlus’ sci-fi neo-noir role-playing game Soul Hacker 2 will also be added to the game catalog in May. The game is the sequel to 1997’s Demon Summoner: Soul Hacker and will be familiar to fans of the Persona series. It features Atlus’ signature art style and turn-based combat, but what stands out most is the setting and story.
In Soul Hackers 2, you play as an artificial creature and agent of Aion, a sentient AI tasked with preventing the coming apocalypse. You investigate clues, recruit companions, and explore neon-drenched supernatural realms to avert disaster and save the world. Soul Hacker 2 is out for PS5.
PS Plus Extra and Deluxe tier members can also play the first three Stalker games as part of a single package. The STALKER: Zone Legend trilogy bundles the console versions of Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Skies (2008), and Call of Pripyat (2009). The port is set to release in 2024, with enhancements coming this month and updated visuals for current consoles.
Players take on the role of a stalker in an alternate version of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, searching and surviving as they battle horrific anomalies, explore radioactive zones, and uncover long-lost mysteries. As a first-person shooter, the S.T.A.L.K.E. trilogy emphasizes careful resource management, as ammo is scarce in the post-apocalypse, although horror is plentiful. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Zone Legend Trilogy will be available on PS4 and PS5.

The World War II shooting game “Battlefield 5” also joined PS Plus this month. Released in 2018, the game follows 2016’s critically acclaimed Battlefield 1. Like any other game in the series, Battlefield 5 has massive multiplayer maps and a classic mode. The game also introduces a battle royale mode called Firestorm, which can host up to 64 players on a single map.
In addition to multiplayer, Battlefield 5 also offers a single-player campaign divided into episodic stories set during World War II. Battlefield 5 is coming to PS4.
