Jan. 23—Priceville — Priceville named Austin Burke its new head football coach.
The school announced the news Thursday. Burke succeeds Seth Parker, the Decatur Daily Class 5A-7A coach of the year last season. Parker left earlier this month to replace Bob Jones as head coach.

“I’ve been blessed to coach under a lot of great head coaches, and Coach Parker is one of the best. I learned a lot playing under him,” Burke said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited for the challenge.”
Burke has been Priceville’s defensive coordinator the past two seasons. Prior to that, he spent six years as an assistant to James Clemens and also had spells at Hazel Green and Munford.
Burke was instrumental in helping Priceville go from 2-8 in its first season in Class 5A in 2024 to 8-4 last season and into the second round of the playoffs.
“Coach Parker and I have been a part of this process together and we’re going to continue to build on this and take it to the next level,” Burke said. “We will continue to move in the right direction.”
