CLEVELAND — The frustration continues for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They lost to the Charlotte Hornets today.

All levels are based on our typical expectations for each player.

Donovan Mitchell

17 points, 7 assists, 2 reboundss

Mitchell led the Cavaliers to victory Friday night with a heroic 46-point performance. He couldn’t muster the same energy tonight. It wasn’t a bad game for Mitchell, but the Cavaliers have needed a superhuman performance from him as of late to win. Shooting 6-24 isn’t enough.

Jaylen Tyson

16 points, 1 assist, 13 rebounds

Tyson was a difference-maker tonight. He had his third double-double of the season. It shouldn’t have been in vain, as he gave the Cavaliers the lead with less than 24 seconds left, but the rest was out of his control.

grade: one

Jarrett Allen

9 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds

Allen returns tonight after missing two weeks with an injured hand. He occasionally struggled catching the ball and played just 22 minutes in a game that went into overtime. Tough.

Darius Garland

26 points, 9 assists, 2 reboundss

Garland is clearly overcoming foot pain. He limped and looked sad throughout the second half. But that didn’t stop him from leading the Cavaliers to a comeback and a temporary lead in the fourth quarter.

Lonzo Ball

8 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds5 steals

The ball still can’t hit the jump shot. And his point-of-attack defense is lacking. But hey, he’s doing other things. His five steals nearly put the game in Cleveland’s hands.

De’Andre Hunter

4 points, 0 assists, 4 rebounds

Nothing has changed for Hunter recently. He was passive on both ends of the floor.

Dean Wade

14 points, 2 assists, 8 reboundss

Wade was outstanding tonight. His rebounding kept the Cavaliers alive, and his play as a cutter helped them score some of the easiest points in the game.

Nyquawan Tomlin

7 points, 0 assists, 3 reboundss

Tomlin is simply holding back now due to inexperience. His hustle was always impactful. But he’s still prone to defensive breakdowns, making it difficult to stay on the floor for longer than he once was.

thomas bryant

10 points, 0 assists, 6 reboundss

Kobe wasn’t quick enough to keep up with opponents on the outside, but he still took advantage of opportunities in the paint. He plays big, which makes up for a lot.
