KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Paxton Aaronson scored in each half and Wayne Frederick’s first career goal helped the Colorado Rapids beat Sporting Kansas City 4-1 on Saturday night.
Aaronson gave Colorado (3-2-0) the lead in the 12th minute, but Shapi Suleymanov scored for the first time of the season in the 44th minute to tie Sporting KC (1-3-1).

The tie lasted until the 2nd minute of stoppage time, when Frederic scored without an assist and led 2-1 at halftime. This was the 15th career appearance for the 21-year-old midfielder.
Rafael Navarro scored in the 71st minute and Aaronson scored four minutes later and then added an assist.
Aaronson, 22, has seven goals in 49 games in 18 career starts. Navarro has three goals and three assists this season and has 31 goals and 13 assists in 80 career games.
Zach Steffen had two saves for the Rapids.
John Purskamp saved four shots for Sporting KC.
Colorado leads the seven-team Western Conference, winning three of its first five games.
